Carving Care

How to care for your carvings, so they will last a lifetime.

Our chainsaw carvings have 2 coats of protective finish on it. Carvings can be indoors or outdoors. They will need to be maintained with additional clear coats of polyurethane every couple of years if kept outdoors. If they are in all-day direct sunlight, they will need a protective coat applied every year. I like to use a spray, as it gets into all of the nooks and crannies quickly and easily. Checking and cracking is a normal occurrence and I think it enhances the character of each individual carving. On the bears, you can put black spray paint in these areas to make cracks less noticeable. If you have any questions, PLEASE contact us via email. I hope you have many years of enjoyment with your carving.
